Funding News May 2008
- The Big Lottery Fund has launched a new £190million fund to create facilities for young people’s activities. Grants will be between £1million and £5million in the My Place scheme. For more details see My Place Scheme on our Funding Database
- Umbrella group Urban Reform has published research claiming that one sixth of bodies set up to ensure community participation in local decision-making are set to lose their funding. In a survey of 85 Community Employment Networks (CENs), 18% had lost all funding, 22% lost part of their funding, with 11% losing half of their funding since the introduction of the new Local Area Agreements. - Aberdeen City Council will receive £5million towards a new swimming pool for Glasgow’s 2014 Commonwealth Games, and Edinburgh will receive £1million, the first recipients of cash for facilities for the games.
